About This Wine:

A blend of Zinfandel, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our 2007 Ménage à Trois Red exposes the fresh, ripe, jam-like fruit that is the calling card of California wine. Forward, silky and soft, this delicious dalliance makes the perfect accompaniment for grilled meats or chicken.

 
Winemaker Notes:
Ménage à Trois red brings together three strange bedfellows: Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. To add complexity and retain character, each variety was fermented separately, then blended together prior to bottling. On top we’ve got Zinfandel, a saucy tease that brings blackberry and raspberry jam to the relationship. Merlot, with its generous mouth feel and red fruits, fits perfectly in the middle. The rich flavors and firm tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon make it the ideal candidate for the bottom layer of the trio.

The 2007 Ménage à Trois white is a trip to the islands without the worry of sunburn or bugs. It’s undeniably fruity and unabashedly easy. It’s meant to be quaffed, not analyzed. Winemaker Notes:
The 2007 Ménage à Trois white marries Chardonnay, Muscat and Chenin Blanc. Each variety is individually harvested, gently crushed and cold-fermented in small stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and character and retain the juicy fruit aromas. The Chardonnay is rich and firm. The Muscat is wild and exotic. The Chenin is soft and supportive. Together they make the perfect threesome.

Recipe for the Grill!  

GRILLED GARLIC AND ROSEMARY RUBBED
NEW YORK SIRLOIN STEAK

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time:
about 16 Minutes
Ready in:
about 40 Minutes WITH refrigerating time
Makes 2 to 3 servings


Ingredients:
2 lbs. Boneless New York Sirloin Steak
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons of rosemary
2 tablespoons olive oil
cracked black pepper
salt


Directions:
1. Preheat grill to medium heat.

2. Rub both sides of the New York Sirloin Steak with olive oil then season with the salt and pepper to taste.

3. Next rub the garlic and rosemary into both sides of the steak and place he steaks in a glass dish. Cover and put in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.

4. Place the steaks on the preheated grill grid and cook uncovered 7 to 8 minutes per side. Turn with tongs to retain juiciness.

5. Remove steaks from grill and carve steaks across the grain into thin slices to serve.

Recipe for the Grill!  

GRILLED BONELESS CHICKEN BREASTS THAI-STYLE

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time:
20 Minutes
Ready in:
about 4 Hours and 20 Minutes WITH marinating time
Makes 2-3 servings

Ingredients:
2 boneless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons sesame oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup water
2 cloves minced garlic
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 cup chopped sweet onion

Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together all ingredients EXCEPT chicken breast. Add the mixture to a resealable plastic bag.

2. Add the boneless chicken breasts, seal the bag after removing all excess air and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. (8 to 12 Hours is best)

3. Pre-heat grill to medium heat.

4. Remove the chicken breasts and reserve the marinate for basting.

5. Grill boneless chicken breasts, turning occasionally and basting, for 20 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center registers 170°F. Note: Do not baste during the last 5 minutes of grilling. Discard any remaining marinade.

GRILLED TEXAS-STYLE CHICKEN WINGS

Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Marinating Time:
4 to 6 Hours
Cook Time:
30 Minutes
Ready in:
4 hours and 45 Minutes
Makes 2-3 servings

Ingredients:
2 lbs. Jumbo Cut Party Wings
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed in garlic press
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
1. Preheat grill to medium heat.

2. In a small bowl combine oil, garlic, chili powder, oregano, cumin and salt until blended to make seasoning mixture.

3. Grill chicken wings turning occasionally for 15 minutes.

4. After 15 minutes, baste chicken wings with seasoning mixture for an additional 10 minutes or until cooked through. Note: Do not baste during the last 5 minutes of grilling.

GRILLED MARINATED LEMON-ORANGE
PORK CHOPS

Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Marinating Time: Overnight
Cook Time:
about 12 to 16 Minutes
Ready in:
about 32 Minutes WITHOUT Marinating Time
Makes 4 pork chops

Ingredients:
4 pork boneless chops cut about 1 1/2 inches thick
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon dry oregano
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
1. In a small bowl, mix together the parsley, garlic, oil, rosemary, thyme orange and lemon peel, sugar, oregano, salt and cracked black pepper.

2. Place each chop in a shallow baking dish and spread the mixture over each chop, cover and refrigerate overnight.

4. Preheat grill to medium heat.

5. After marinating, remove as much of the marinade from the pork chops as you can and Grill the each pork chop for 6 to 8 minutes on each side.

6. Remove the pork chops from the grill when done and serve.
