** 3 RECIPES FOR YOU FROM HAVERHILL
BEEF AND DUCANE GAS GRILLS **
RamJam Chicken
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Makes 8 servings
Ingredients:
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons dry white wine
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 teaspoon dried Italian-style seasoning
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 pinch ground black pepper
8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into strips
Directions:
1. In a large, resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce,
wine, lemon juice, oil, Italian-style seasoning, ginger, garlic,
onion powder and ground black pepper. Place chicken in the bag.
Seal, and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours,
or overnight.
2. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, and lightly
oil grate.
3. Thread the chicken onto skewers, and set aside. Pour marinade
into a small saucepan, and bring to a boil over high heat.
4. Cook chicken on the prepared
grill for approximately 5 minutes per side, basting with the
sauce several times. Chicken is done when no longer pink and
juices run clear.

Grilled Potatoes and Onion
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
4 potatoes, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons butter
Directions:
1. Preheat a grill for indirect heat.
2. Measure out 2 or 3 sheets
of aluminum foil large enough to easily wrap the vegetables,
and layer one on top of the other. Place potatoes and onion in
the center, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and dot with butter.
Wrap into a flattened square, and seal the edges.
3. Place aluminum wrapped package
over medium heat, and cover. Cook for approximately 30 minutes,
turning once. Serve hot off the grill.

Baked Alaska
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 3 to 5 Minutes
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
4 sponge cake dessert shells or cake cut in 3 1/2" rounds
4 scoops ice cream of desired flavor
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vinegar
Directions
1. Place sponge cakes on cookie sheet. Top each with a scoop
of ice cream. Freeze firm.
2. Beat egg whites with cream
of tartar until frothy. Gradually beat in sugar, a little at
a time, continue beating until stiff and glossy. Blend in vanilla.
Cover prepared cake shells with meringue, covering completely
the cake and ice cream and sealing edges at bottom. Return to
freezer until time to serve.
3. When ready to serve, preheat
gas grill 10 minutes.
4. Bake frozen Alaska on gas
grill set on medium-low with cover down 3 to 5 minutes or until
meringue is browned. Serve immediately.

** GRILLING TIP FROM HAVERHILL
BEEF AND DUCANE GAS GRILLS **
QUESTION: Someone told me to
check my grill for spiders. . . Is this necessary?
ANSWER: Yes, we don't like them
either, but spiders are attracted to the additives in both natural
and LP (propane) gas. A nesting spider is capable of spinning
a web overnight that could cause partial or complete blocked
gas flow. We recommend a maintenance program on your grill and
the burners should be checked at that time.
