BEEF CASSEROLE

Makes 6 servings
Ingredients:
2 lbs. stew beef
1/2 cup red wine
Vegetable oil spray
1 1/4 cup beef broth
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon rosemary
1/4 cup flour
1 cup of sliced mushrooms
1 cup chopped onion
Directions:
1. Preheat broiler.
2. Lightly spray a broiler pan
with vegetable oil spray.
3. Place he stew beef on the
broiler pan and place in broiler; brown stew meat on all sides,
turning frequently. Remove from broiler and set aside.
4. Set oven 300 degrees F.
5. In 1 1/2-quart oven-proof
casserole dish, combine wine, broth, tomato paste, spices and
flour. Stir to mix well.
6. Place the stew meat in casserole
dish and add mushrooms and onion.
7. Cover and bake about 3 hours,
or until meat is tender. |
