DAMPERS

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes
Makes 18 dampers. (Serving size = 2 dampers.)

Ingredients:
3 cups self-rising flour
1 1/4 cups milk
Jam or marmalade, optional

Directions:
1. In a large bowl or food processor bowl combine flour and milk. Mix to make a stiff dough, kneading and adding more flour if necessary. Form dough into 2-tablespoon balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll balls into 2 1/2-inch "sausage" shapes.

2. Lightly oil skewers; push single skewers lengthwise through the shaped dough.

3. Lightly oil cooking grates. Place skewers with dough in center of cooking grate. Grill 10 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally. Serve warm and with jam or marmalade, if desired.
